During our Sunday ride with my pal Christos, we have realized that we didn't have any spare tubes around. We have decided to take our chances, and not cancel the training session. Unfortunately, that wasn't our date. He had a puncture and I went 3 km ahead until Going that he didn't have spare or tools with him, except a pump. Therefore i turn the bike around and started cycling to his direction, thinking of what we should do, without a spare tube.
Lessons were learned suddenly. The others were smarter and likely more experienced than me. Most ate their food while riding and as a result didn't loose much hours. Me, a rookie, adjusted though the day and started to eat and ride while the day proceeded. We went to hell (almost) that day, crossing muddy creeks deep enough to rinse my bike and upper body. I thought it would be a onetime thing but it became routine to eradicate my derailleur and chain every time I crossed a creek. On-course bike maintenance would be critical in the mud-themed drive. I would end up spending close to 2 hours washing in creek crossings on day one. Throw in a few hike-a-bikes and we were off with great outset!
At the end of the party, me, Debbie, and Denise, went fixing your Own Bike their apartment, and as well as bunch with the officers, that were just flight students from the squadron, showed up, and crashed the party. I Denise had invited these folks over to her apartment, and me and Debbie, did not know we were coming, I felt very awkward, and decided to head out, and that i don't know what happened there, the remaining night.
